POSITION SUMMARY:
Provides professional, high-quality, and customer-focused services at the Front Desk / Reception
area at the French American School of Puget Sound. In addition, this position provides administrative
support based on the needs of the Office, Facilities, and Transportation Department. As the first
person to welcome employees and all others to the school, a friendly and poised attitude is a must.
This is a fast-paced environment where multi-tasking and quick problem-solving skills are valuable
skills to have.
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
Must be knowledgeable of multiple software programs, including but not limited to Microsoft
Office 365 (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to speak and understand the French language is a plus
Experience working in an independent school environment is preferred
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The principal responsibilities include, but are not limited
to:
Answer incoming phone calls in a courteous and professional manner. Transfer and relay
messages to staff
Health check visitors (to be determined)
Handle small and large mailings
Keep the Front Desk neat and organized to provide a welcoming and professional environment to
our families and visitors to the school
Act as a “School Nurse” when the Health and Safety Aide is not on campus; administer first aid if
necessary
Accept and sign for packages addressed to FASPS
Develop and ensure maintenance of well-organized files
Prepare various documents as requested by supervisor
Assist in tracking daily student attendance
Facilitate bus and/or after-school check-in and check-out
Provide event support as needed
Help administration during drop-off and pick-up duties (to be determined)

Must be able to concentrate and stay focused under normal or heavy distractions
Must maintain a professional appearance at all times consistent with school standards
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Occasionally lift up to 20 pounds (nine kilograms)
Generally work in standard office conditions and environment
Work at desk and computer for extended period of times

Immediate opening. Work hours are from 8:00am to 4:30pm.

ABOUT THE FRENCH AMERICAN SCHOOL OF PUGET SOUND (FASPS):
FASPS is an independent day school located on Mercer Island, serving students two years old
through grade 8 with a bilingual program taught in both French and English. Founded in 1995 by
a small group of educators and Francophiles, FASPS opened with two teachers and 13 students.
Today, FASPS welcomes 435 students whose families come from around the world, representing
more than 50 different nationalities and speaking more than 20 different languages at home. FASPS
is fully accredited by the French Ministry of National Education and the Northwest Association of
Independent Schools (NWAIS).
